Why buy a desk when you can buy a piece of French history instead?
We’ve come a long way since the original “bureau” first appeared in France at the beginning of the 17th century.
Originally, it was nothing more than a flat tabletop with a drawer underneath.
Over time, different elements have been added to the original design to make it more practical and aesthetically pleasing for use in the home or office.
For example, a hinged writing surface, space for the knees, 2 lockable drawers, plenty of pigeonholes and, in this case, gorgeous detailing in the form of gold highlights, a decoupage print of cherubs on either side of the bureau, a bang on-trend colour job and a lovely soft satin finish.
